St. Mary’s of the Assumption Tabs Nico Vargas as their next Baseball Coach
St. Mary’s of the Assumption is excited to announce Nico Vargas as their new head baseball coach. Vargas brings a wealth of experience to the Hilltoppers. He brings fourteen years of baseball experience to the program ranging from high school to elite showcase programs.
Vargas stated, “I am very excited to be coaching at St. Mary’s of the
Assumption and joining the Hilltopper family. I look forward to the challenge of building this program into one of the top programs in the state. I believe my experience will help me lead St. Mary’s into the new era Director of Athletics, Michele Sharp envisions.” Most recently, Vargas was assistant coach at Roselle Catholic in 2017 and 2018. Throughout his coaching career, Vargas has placed over 98 players in various colleges and universities as well as producing four Major League draft picks.
