Frequently Asked Questions

What is the St. Mary’s Annual Fund ?
The Annual Fund includes:  a direct mail appeal, mailed twice a year; several special events; online giving campaigns like Giving Tuesday, grant proposals and major gifts — all with a goal of $425,000 by June 30th.  The Annual Fund helps with operational expenses that must be covered in order to keep tuition affordable.  In many schools, the tuition actually pays the bills.  At St. Mary’s, we seek to offer a quality Catholic education that is within financial reach for working class families who need some assistance. The tuition is the most competitive in Union County.  The Annual Fund allows for that to happen.
What Impact Does My Gift Have?
Your gift can very well change a life.  Your gift might help a student with tuition, or it might help to expand our after-school program.  Your gift might fund a new software program or help us replace a printer in the computer lab.  Your gift might help repair an old boiler, or a poorly insulated window.  Your gift will enrich the St. Mary’s learning environment so that each student has their best chance of succeeding in high school, and beyond.
Is St. Mary’s High School a non-profit ?
Yes. St. Mary’s is a 501(c)3.  The Federal Tax ID # is 22-1533515.
How can I make a donation ?
  • Personal Check, Cash, or Money Order
  • Corporate Matching Gift
  • Stocks/Securities – Contact [email protected] for wiring instructions
  • Online with your credit card
  • A gift in your will – great way to help us prepare for the future!
How much should I give?
Each gift is important; however, leadership gifts of confidence are especially important and necessary to reach the $425,000 goal.
May I make a pledge over a few years?
Absolutely!  A pledged gift over 2-3 years allows you to make a larger contribution, but pay it off, over that period.
For example, a $1,000 gift, spread over 2 years, means a gift of approximately $42/month, which can be made online with your credit card, or however you wish!
Do you have a program to sponsor students?
Yes, a portion of student tuition may be donated and will help ensure that deserving students are able to attend St. Mary’s.  It is recommended that you consider sponsoring the same student through their time here at St. Mary’s, in order to “guarantee” the family the assistance each year.  Tuition for the 2019-20 school year, including all fees, will be $9,000.  A scholarship in any amount can be awarded to a student and you can name it in memory or honor of a loved one.
