St. Mary’s of the Assumption Announces Hiring of Head
Boys Basketball Coach Daniele Crincoli

“We are excited to announce Daniele “Coach Danny” Crincoli as our head boys’ basketball coach at St. Mary of the Assumption High School. Coach Crincoli is a high-energy leader with a long-standing history at St. Mary’s. He has a tremendous basketball pedigree and a strong track record of developing and mentoring high-quality student-athletes”, said Director of Athletics Michele Sharp. Crincoli has been a mainstay in the school’s program having coached at St. Mary’s the past ten years. In 2016-2017, The Hilltoppers were ranked as one of the top 5 teams in the state.

“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to be the head coach at a historic program like St. Mary’s and to take over for my mentor and St. Mary’s all-time winningest coach Anthony Colletti”, stated Coach Crincoli. “So many great coaches have walked the sidelines of St. Mary’s such as greats like Halleck, Firestone, Candelino and the legendary coach Al LoBalbo not to mention it being the alma mater of Hubie Brown. I’m excited to get to work and build a powerhouse program that will work together with our great administration. Together we will develop and graduate top student-athletes in the best county and state in New Jersey for high school basketball.”

Crincoli began his career at St. Mary’s in 2008-2009. Since joining the Hilltoppers, Crincoli has held many positions within the basketball program and last year was promoted to associate head coach. During his tenure as assistant coach, St. Mary’s program saw a tremendous amount of success throughout the state of New Jersey. In the past four years, the Hilltoppers have received numerous scholarships to colleges and universities.

“His work ethic, passion for the game and clear vision of how to build a program capable of competing at the highest levels are impressive. I look forward to our student-athletes working with Coach Crincoli and watching this program flourish under his direction”, stated Sharp.

Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, he is married to Suzanne (Milano) Crincoli, who is a ST. MARY’S ALUM. They have two daughters Liana and Alessia.
