Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life

Jesus’ teachings are the inspiration and model for St. Mary of the Assumption High School. We are committed to the spiritual growth of our students. As such, the programs and services offered by the religion department and parish priests strive to develop each student’s awareness of their unique relationship with a loving God.

Parish priests are available to students for individual counseling and to respond to the spiritual and developmental needs of each member through liturgical and Para-liturgical celebrations.

In addition to formal religious instruction, the spiritual needs of our students are met through the following liturgical experiences:

  •  Home-room liturgies
  • Opening-of-school mass
  • Student and Faculty “Days of Reflection” and Retreats
  • Thanksgiving Prayer Service
  •  Christmas Para-Liturgy
  •  Ash Wednesday Service
  •  Lenten Prayer Services
  •  Penance Services
  •  Ring Day Religious Service
  •  Prom Mass
  •  Catholic Schools’ Week Celebrations
  •  Baccalaureate Mass
  •  Community Service
  •  Morning Prayer
